CONSULTANTS AND ANALYSTS Rika Welsh Rika Welsh works with The Buske Group on community needs assessment activities and focus group sessions.
Ms. Welsh brings over 30 years of experience and leadership in the Public, Educational and Government Access field. She has been involved in the design, implementation and management of many PEG Access centers. She served as the Executive Director of Malden Access TV for 12 years. Under her leadership, that non-profit organization evolved into a Community Media Center, providing access to computers and multi media facilities as well as video production. Fred Johnson Fred Johnson is a media educator, documentary maker, writer, and communication policy analyst. He consults in telecommunications policy and community development with government, non-profits, educational and community groups. Johnson is a former telecommunications policy associate for the National Telecommunications Consumer Coalition, and a recipient of the Fulbright Fellowship for the Television and Film Arts. Johnson has worked for The Buske Group on projects that require his unique combination of abilities. He has planned and conducted focus group sessions and has worked with nonprofit groups to help them develop telecommunication plans. Johnson has conducted research on the use of the Internet and city-net by targeted nonprofit groups in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has developed plans for use of an institutional network for data transmission and Internet access, created Web sites and taught workshops for artists in Web site design, and conducted teachers’ institutes on educational reform and media throughout the curriculum.
